What you should know about Arizona ESA

Dear Arizona Parents,

We are honored to answer your calls and e-mails in response to ESA funds and the school rating index with the Arizona Department of Education.  Why?  Many parents are unaware of the resources that are readily available to assist them in overseeing the best education for their student. We are here to provide you with additional information that will help you make the best school choice.

Almentia Academy  is a “Qualified School” eligible to receive ESA and ACE applicants. Our mission is to seek out parents who want and prefer the online school experience. We allow for true flexibility.  We are a year-round school where the learning never stops, and the first to implement and celebrate 4-day school weeks with Field Trip Fridays as an option. Our float teachers may travel with student athletes when necessary.  We also work non-traditional hours to provide specialized online learning opportunities for students living abroad with their families. The information below can help you make the right choice:

  • 22% of Arizona students are eligible for ESA funds
  • As of August 2018, approximately 6,000 participating students have opted out of the public school system and accepted an ESA
  • 133 participating Arizona Private Schools and 1 Private Online School are “Qualified Schools” eligible to receive ESA applicants
  • Average ESA value is $13,431 per year including SEN student valuation
  • ESA prepaid card value per student is approximately $6,495 per year excluding SEN student valuation
  • 153 Arizona Public Schools received a “D or F” rating from the Department of Education

Click to see ESA Eligibility along with a list of Arizona Failing “D/F” rated schools.  Please note that this is one indicator of what makes a school good.  However, because letter grade schools are used as an ESA criteria, we have included a list of failing schools as a resource for parents to use to determine school choice mechanisms.  The 2018/2019 letter grades will be available approximately 30 days after the school year ends.  If you would like to see good and excelling schools in Arizona, please click AZ.gov and select 2017/2018 A-F Letter Grades.

Join the thousands of students converging on the online school experience.  If you are interested in attending Almentia Academy’s premiere Private Online School browse our courses and enroll today.  We have rolling admissions for the 2019-2020 school year.  However, if you are interested in applying as an ESA applicant, it is important to adhere to their June 1, 2019 deadline.

Thank you for visiting Almentia Academy
